Accessibility

This site strives to comply with accessibility standards for those with disabilities. Accesskeys are available by holding down the ALT key with the corresponding key (CTRL+key on Mac). By hovering over a menu item with the mouse, the accesskey will be displayed. This site's accesskeys are set up as following:

  • H - Home Page
  • A - Accessibility information
  • 1 through 6 - Navigation items
    • 1 - About the Group
    • 2 - Member Information
    • 3 - Recordings
    • 4 - Repertoire List
    • 5 - Booking Info
    • 6 - Composer Info
    • 7 - San Diego Saxophone Orchestra

Additionally, a tab index is set up that moves through the navigation menu in logical order by pressing the TAB key. Once highlighted, the ENTER key will access that menu item.

XHMTL & CSS

The code written for this website follows the W3C guidelines for standards-compliancy. Great efforts have been made to ensure that the site looks the same regardless of what browser and operating system the pages are viewed in.

If your browser doesn't understand stylesheets, the pages will still display the information, but will not appear as visually appealing. This is achieved through logical, semantic markup and cascading stylesheets.

XHTML transitional is used throughout and CSS elements are kept to those that are fully cross-browser compatible. This site has been tested in Windows on Firefox, MSIE 5.5 and 6, Opera 7, Netscape 4 and 7, and Macintosh on Firefox, MSIE 5.5 and 6, Safari, and Opera.

If you have not already done so, please consider switching your browser to Mozilla Firefox. It is a more secure browser that is very feature-rich, customizable and easy to use. Plus, it's free and you can switch back to your old brower at any time. Give it a shot...
